Don Daseke - Chairman of the Board
Mr. Daseke is the President & CEO of Daseke Inc., the parent company for the premier flatbed/ specialized carriers Smokey Point Distributing Inc., E. W. Wylie Corporation, J. Grady Randolph, Inc., Central Oregon Truck, WTI Transport, Boyd Bros Transportation and Lone Star Transportation.
Mr. Daseke was a Regional Winner in the Ernst Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2014. Non-profit leadership includes the past President and Chairman of the WaterTower Theatre; a Trustee of DePauw University; the past Chairman of the Dallas Chapter of the World Presidents Organization and a member of the Chief Executives Organization. Mr. Daseke serves on the Advisory Council for the Cattle Barons Ball in Dallas, the largest fundraiser in the United States for the American Cancer Society and has served on the Executive Committee for the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Society. Don was a founding director of the Center for Management & Entrepreneurship at DePauw University.
Mr. Daseke was a Commissioner on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the Town of Addison (Texas) from 2005 to 2009, was elected to a two year term on the Addison Town Council in May 2009, and served as Mayor Pro Tempore in 2010.
He received his B.A. from DePauw University, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business and graduated from the Presidents Program in Leadership from the Harvard Business School. Mr. Daseke is a Certified Public Accountant.
In his spare time, Mr. Daseke, along with his wife and grandchildren, enjoy hiking and bicycling adventure trips all around the world.
John Grimes, Sr. - Director
Mr. Grimes worked in the automotive industry for almost 40 years, the last thirty of which were with Enterprise Rent A Car. When he retired from Enterprise in 2000, Mr. Grimes was President of its D/FW Region with 110 offices and annual revenues exceeding $300 million.
He was a graduate of Loyola University in Chicago with a BBS in management and finance. Mr. Grimes is or has been involved with The Science Place, Children's' Education Fund, Thanksgiving Square, Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums, St. Rita Parish finance committee, Jesuit Foundation, Jesuit College Prep Board of Trustees, the St. Paul Hospital Foundation, The Lamplighter School Board of Trustees, and as a director of Aleris International, Inc.
Dr. James Beckett - Director
Jim Beckett is the leading authority on sports card values in the United States. He is the author of numerous books on sports card collecting and is founder and publisher of the popular Beckett monthly magazines for collectors and Beckett.com online destination and community for sports collectibles enthusiasts.
Jim Beckett earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from Southern Methodist University in 1975. Prior to starting Beckett in 1984, he served as an Associate Professor of Statistics at Bowling Green State University and as vice president of a consulting firm in Dallas, Texas.
Brian Hammer - Director
Brian Hammer is Director of Online Marketing at Samsung Telecommunications America. Previously employed at Yahoo his work included partnering with Nokia on the world's first social media film directed by Spike Lee. He worked with clients like Sprint and Pizza Hut to help formulate online programs that leveraged technology and tapped into consumer behavior.
Prior to Yahoo Mr. Hammer founded IGLUE, Inc. in 1999 and was president of the company until its acquisition in 2002. At IGLUE, he focused the company on digital strategy and e-commerce for a variety of clients ranging from an airline to a global telecommunications company, from tech start-ups to online retailers.
Before founding IGLUE, he managed advertising and promotions for Travelocity beginning with the launch of the website. While at Travelocity, he assisted in the partnership between Travelocity and Yahoo, and managed joint promotions with American Airlines, Continental, Delta, Hilton, M&M Mars, and others. He has taught interactive marketing at the graduate level. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and his MBA from the University of Dallas.
